Dana 44 axle question

Can anyone tell me if the guts in a 1986 dana44 3/4 ton axle including the bearing caps can be installed in a 1982 dana44 ? they are both later style open ends with disc brakes. The reason I ask is that I have been looking for a matched set of 8lug rears for my town panel project for a while and have not been able to find anything. today I found a 3/4 ton 82 4x4 that has what appear to be good axles but the front guts are missing.
