From articles I have read, grade 8 are actually more prone to break than grade 5 when subjected to lateral (bending) forces...they are more brittle.
THey are stronger in the sense they are more resistant to compression and stretching.
So, they would in general be best for the pintle hook mount, but may not be as good as grade 5 for the winch, tow hooks, etc. where you have bending forces.
