I think it is a matter of choice/money.
Like a Ford/Chevy/Dodge thing. I Love my old Dodges. But I work my older Chevy's Hard. To me the Older trucks are better than todays. But that's anther story.
I have used Meyer plows for 30 years,without no majior problems. Yes 1or2 solinoids, and repack cyl,pump, but I bet that happens to them all. I run the 9ft. Com. meyer. The pump/plow mounts on my 84 K-30 date to 1979 and still going strong. I'm on my 3rd blade now. Keep looking the best deal. The plows basicly are all the same.
