I've found a good 4x4 donor to convert this townie to a all wheel drive. I found a '62 W300 that's a total wreck body wise. The front axle is good, but at some point they blew the rear axle and replaced it with a duallie W300 axle (they kept the SRW wheels). Well they wrecked that rear end also, but I think I can still use it on the townie, just make some spacers to move the rear wheels out to where they track in line with the front.
Heres the parts I need:
1) D70 differential with 4.88 gear ratio.
2) A set of Side mirriors for the townie.
3) a six lug wheel for a w300 (spare)
4) someone to buy or trade me for the Slant six, 4 speed, and running gear (no-spin rear differential with 3.98 gear ratio) out of the townie.
The W300 donor is supposed to have a good running poly in it, but this truck may be a good candidate for a 4BT cummins and a OD 5 speed. Just wonder about the noise of the diesel in the cab of the townie...
