I knew I had this info somewhere.

You probably got a cast crank. The hole needs to be drilled (take motor out) or the pilot bushing turned down (Take motor out to match crank) which is a lot of work.

You could have the hole drilled but its un finished and your pilot wont fit in.

According to my book and I have no part #'s but they say NAPA has a special pilot bushing with a reduced outer diameter that will fit the unfinished pilot hole. They say to use some thread lock with this NAPA part to keep it into place once driven in.

They also say a mid to late 90's truck with a 5 speed pilot bushing is a roller bearing pressed into the center of a aluminum disc which is pressed on the portion of the crankshaft flange where an auto tork convertor hub would rest at. Doing it this way the tip of the input shaft occupies the pilot hole but doesnt contact the crankshaft as it rides on the bearing. You can get this bearing from Mopar Performance.
