Not exactly Power Wagon related, but someone may have experience that can help.

Putting together my Road Runner's 383 and recently acquired 833 4 speed. Unfortunately, got some bad internet advice and after everything was together, I found out that the pre-existing hole in the auto crankshaft is too shallow. The pilot bearing fit and the tranny lines up nicely, but is about 1/4 inch too shallow. The input shaft is bottoming out.

Now I am faced with the decision of cutting the input shaft or taking everything apart and getting the crankshaft drilled out. I'm leaning toward the latter since it is a pricey option to have to replace the input shaft should I want to sell the tranny later - plus, it seems like the FUBAR way out.

Does anybody have the specifications of a properly bored manual crankshaft that I can take to the machine shop?

Thanks,

Ken C.
