My hood hinge has been broken forever and I've never really seen it fully assembled. I've purchased a new hinge from VPW and of course its not a traditional hinge with a pin.
On my radiator cowling, there is a small smashed piece of metal. I suspect that the longer hinge piece with the rolled ends slips into this small piece of metal which should resemble a small upside down "U". I suspect there may be something back at the cab, but there are no remnants of anything.
Can someone explain exactly how the two pieces of the hinge fit together without pulling apart; and how the hood system actually attaches to the truck (the "u" shaped piece use). Lastly are the "V" shaped rods supposed to be on both sides of the hood?
I just can't tell a whole lot from the VPW picture on p. 68 of their catalog.
