Hmmm - I've never seen this. Do you recall what type of oil this was?
The partial flow filtration used in the old MOPAR flatheads is actually a very good method of cleaning oil; they are more tolerant of higher pressure drops. I believe the bypass ultrafiltration method is the one touted by Amsoil and the other extended service period groups.
