Exactly! ferd dealers have been spreading that rumor for years, out of envy I suppose! Cummins is a family owned, private (public stock?) company. International makes the powerjoke. The Dodge/Cummins agreement states that no other manufacturer can use the 5.9 in 1500-2500-3500 bodies. The ferd 450 and 550 can order them, as does Freightliner in their mid-sized trucks, of course Freightliner is also a D/C company as is Western Star and Sterling.
The duramax is Izusu, and Izusu is an owned division of gm.
