I had to change one on my truck. Man what a pain that is ...very frustrating. I did succeed however.
You need to twist this thing in strange ways to get it in and out. It keeps feeling like it will be easy to get out but is not. You don't need to force anything but you will be tempted to do so.
I forgot who I bought mine from, but it was someone on this forum. You might also be able to repair yours, I think it is common for the spring to break.
