I was a good friend of a survivor of Pearl. He passed away about 2 years ago. He wore a brace on his leg from a injury he recieved while serving on the carrier Lexington. My uncle just shot up on Christmas Island soon after. He was in the hospital at Pearl. His brother visited him there in the hospital and recalled that the bullet holes in the walls were still fresh and unrepaired. Tom
