you will scar the inserts on mains. The prelube is gone in one or two revolutions, period. Check Dave's post about making a preoiler or you can fab one from a pump up garden sprayer. Connect it to the one of the plugs in the oil gallery on the side of the block and fully pressurize the system before you spin it. I recently had to pull the crank on the 230 I'm putting together to check a bearing and after less than two full revolutions manually turned the main inserts showed marks where the assembly lube was gone.
