I just got the photo in my email today from an Uncle in CA. I'm pretty sure I recognize the buildings in the background as part of the old WWII bomber base in Tooele, UT, so that much I can confirm.
I reduced the photo size some when I uploaded it to my website to make downloading quicker. The full size photo does show a wound at base of the snake's scull, so I'm pretty sure it's dead.
The guy in the photo looks like he's working to hold it up... so it must be heavy. I thought it was the real deal, but have no independent source.
