Pull the negative cable and insert a DC ammeter (if you have one) and see what it reads or if you notice a 'spark' when disconnecting or connecting the cable chances are there is a short or other load in the vehicle wiring, if no spark, read the voltage across the + & - terminals with a voltmeter and if ther battery shows less than 12.0 volts take the battery to an auto parts store and have them do a 'load test' on it and
