He didn't say what year the truck is, but using a disconnect switch on a computer controlled vehicle is going to cause other problems. The proper way is to fix the problem, not put a band-aide on it. If I was shopping for a vehicle and saw a disconnect switch, the first thought would be..."I wonder what problem this truck has that the owner can't fix or find?"
It's not uncommon for a plate to become loose on a battery causing it to internally short and drain down, but the more likely cause is a component or wiring, it's a process of elimination to track it down, one step at a time.
