I drove down to Washington today & had a look at her...up until now I'd only talked to the old guy on the phone. He told me he'd owned it since the late 70's, it was an original slant6 with hanging pedals. He had the engine fully rebuilt in 1998 & said it had low miles but high hours on the engine while in use with a utility company. I arrived & it's in a very dark garage. My gut feeling when I opened the hood was that it just didn't look original but who am I to say...too much buggery gone on under that hood to say for sure. Motor mounts looked hoaky to me...not likely Dodge but very hard to see in the dark. Couldn't read the data tag but took close up pictures to view once I got home. Took pictures of the pedal cluster to view when I got home. Took pictures underneath & all around the truck & went on my way.
After viewing the photos...no way that engine came in that truck...sorry to set off the alarm prematurely!
