There was grease in them when I dissasembled them, I simply replaced it with new. I dont know what the inside of a Mile Marker looks like but I have the cheapy Superwinch hubs on mine. I would not pack the super winches with grease but the Dualmatic hubs are entirely different inside. Granted you may be correct, and the previous owner may have put in the grease erroneously. I have seen Dualmatic hubs that are frozen up, a lack of lubrication allowed the aluminum to oxidize and freeze-up the rotating dog.
