something I have found after talking to departments is they need to keep equiptment that is instantly repairable if they break things. Stuff like lingages, sheet metal etc is hard for "normal" service guys to repair and get it back in service quickly (IE next day) as thes trucks do have life saving responabilities, while we (power wagon freaks per say) could repair and research said repairs, the time for a hourly mechanic to find parts out of the normal sorces is cost vprohobitive. IE on mine I could not find a headlamp switch, ignition swith and high beam indictor bezel. I have since found it but after 10 or so hours on phones etc. If I were a paid mechanic this would cost at least 200 or so in reseach, as oppose to calling dealer and getting it. I believe also there is a concern of safety in an accident, shieldng and other stuff our "put a helmet on" and " sue for everything" society has become

wow a rambling post just from a photo

ps if my house was burning I would rather have a newer, faster more reliable truck coming to put it out
