To polarize the generator:
1. Disconnect the wire at the regulator terminal marked field (FLD).
2. Momentarily (no longer then 2 seconds) touch the wire to the battery (BAT) terminal. There maybe a brief spark; this is normal.
3. Reconnect the wire to the field (FLD) terminal.
4. Start vehicle and check charging system for proper operation.
Before you do all of this, make sure the battery is fully charged!!
