Well the scanner will help in being in the certain location of the problem. You are right just because the scanner says something is bad doesnt mean its not wiring or a sensor or an actual mechanical part causing the problem. Once he determines the location of the problem then he can do normal mechanics stuff to the truck and fix it. These new vehicles are not that different then the old ones. Line pressure and governor pressure is the same on an 46RE or and old 727.
