The man and his wife bought their house in '94 if I remember correctly. They were going to live out their remaining days on their own piece of land. A developer decided that they wanted to build luxury town homes and had the city do their dirty work when people didn't want to sell because the money wasn't enought to start over. The city already E-D'ed the day care center that beared his name next to his house and flattened it. Since the SCOTUS did the stupid E-D ruling this has been too regular of an occurance.
