We had a similar problem. When we started the
engin after rebuild, the oil pressure went to
60 psi, and then went to about 8 Psi. We shut
the engin down and started looking. The oil
cross over line in the oil pan had given a false
feeling of tightness, caused by a damaged thread
in one of the fittings that had been damaged in
the machine shop. We fixed the problem, and
started the engin back up, and had 60 psi, and
no damage to the engin. If your engin was done
by a reputable shop they should stand behind
