I'm in the early stages of buying my new Ram pickup. I read on a Dodge diesel web page (it was a private owner not Cummins or Dodge) that for either the 2000 or 2001 model year there is/will be a high output option for the Cummins engine. I can't vouch for the accuracy of this info because I don't know where it originated. The reasoning behind this is that the old 5 speed and automatic are near their design limits, but the new heavy duty 6 speed is capable of handling the additional power. Has anyone else heard of this? I believe the order code was a series of three letters (ETH, maybe?)
