We recently were visiting friends who live west of Las Vegas, near the California line.
When there we went west into California to go hiking, exploring.
My friend stopped his 4X4 a mile or so from a hidden mountain spring we wanted to visit. He explained that due to actions of the Clinton administration, all off road vehicles were banned from this huge section of land on the east side of Death Valley.
Luckily we are in pretty good shape and made the hike fine, but it would have really been neat to be able to go part of the way at least in a 4X4 up the hills, not tearing up the ground-being careful.
