That's why I said "interesting experiment" rather than "you're wrong!". I only use MS IE when I absolutely have to, but even with Mozilla I haven't tried out all the options. They may well have written it so that some of that stuff affects other stuff. What they couldn't do, though, is put an absolute time limit on how long pages stay in the cache, because there's no telling how many large pages a person might view within that time and there might not be enough room in the cache, or even on the disk, to store them all.
