It's on the mainland coast of British Columbia just north of Vancouver. You have to take a ferry across Horseshoe Bay to get there. They call that area the "Sunshine Coast". I used to work for a man who spent his summers on a small Island he owned there, and I got to go up and see the place once.
A lot of Canadians have mail drops just across the border in the US. The mail drop places will hold your packages until you have enough to make it worth it to drive down and get them. This saves on freight cost for shipments that originate in the US, and saves on import duty. Plus, you can shop at Wal*Mart when you pick up your stuff. Canada has a lot of good things about it, but there's no doubt it's more expensive living there.
