The A2 usually has an air-locked transfer case, whereas the pre-A2s usually have a sprag (automatic) transfer case, but that's not always the case. There is no interaxle differential in the rear, so the rear axles are always "locked" to the extent that to lose traction, one wheel on each rear axle must spin, but I've never seen an air-locked rear differential on an A2. I'm not the expert on these things, though, and it's quite possible some were installed. All I know is I'd love to have a set.
