i process 3500 accident cars as well as some floods (mainly flash flood parking lot)

in all states vehicle that have been declared a total are ssued salvage paperwork . Insurance then sells cars. I have never heard of insurance caring about destroying cars so that they cant be put back together. I have heard that new car companies, when they have flooded new cars will crush them as if they part them out they are competing with themselves, and if they sell them whole they create obvios goodwill etc. I watched a local salvage yard crush about 10 new chevys when the dealer next to me had some cars flood from a rain storm. the GM rep stood there to make sure all parts were destroyed, engines were removed and detroyed. Salvage yard was paid by gm as at the time scrap was worthless
