Historically over half of flood damaged vehicles end up being transported to other states and re-sold with-out disclosure. Check with Car-Fax if you are buying and spot a suspect vehicle (like a sticker on the truck lid that says "John Doe Dodge, New Orleans"). The half that are illegally (or unethically) sold will be hard to track down. The half that are legally disposed of will be the property of insurance companies, and like Mike said, will most likely be crushed. You might start at the Louisiana insurance companies with your search.
I was thinking about all the axles, transmissions and engines that are going to show up on e-Bay...full of water, silt and corrosion.....
