Some BMW forum posters have had a hard time getting parts for Getrag transmissions. BMW does not carry parts for older Getrags. It was hard getting parts from Getrag - many different design variances and obsolete models. Classic bmw Owners often swap in a salvage yard transmissions. It is not like with NP were you might get parts from the dealer or NAPA. OTOH, Mercedes has a history of carrying parts for its older vehicles, maybe DC will follow that policy as well.
