I've been working around the clock to get my 1950 ready for the rally. Replaced rear brake lines, removed and repainted the fenders, repainted front bumperettes and frame, color sanded the body and bed with 1500 and 2000, buffed with 4 grades of Presta products from Ultra Cutting Creme to Hand Glaze, installed running boards, refinished bed wood, replaced winch chain with proper thimble and clamps, etc.

My friend Terry showed up a week early for the rally after walking around all day at the Fall Carlisle show. Rather than turn around and drive back to Baltimore, he came over to the house and helped me troubleshoot the electrical system. We combined parts of a tail light from VPW with one from Roberts to get a decent working unit, replaced fuse in headlight switch, mounted headlights, cowl lights, panel light switch, etc.

I still need to put a few more coats of urethane on the bed wood, install wood and skid strips in the bed, wire the heater, aim the headlights, run vaccum lines to the windshield wipers, repaint tailgate hinges, and fix the horn (actuates, but no sound). Truck will be ready this weekend, come hell or high water.

Thanks to everyone who registered for the rally so far. Planning is going well. Picked up a sample T-shirt last week. Came out really nice. Marguerite is helping make up registration packets and trying to print magenetic dash plaques. I am ordering awards today. We are just going with "Best of Show" and "Peoples's Choice" because of small number of trucks registered (12-14) and no military. Lots of people are coming without a truck. We advertized the truck show locally, so we may get some of the general public. My mom and some of her friends are all lined up to play music.

Raffle prizes include:
$50 gift certificate and two ball caps from Vintage Power Wagons
DODGE Sales and Service Sign
Gift Basket (thanks to Rob Blair's wife, Colette)
PW Maple Syrup coutesy of Paul Mierop at Moose Creek Maple Products
Power Wagon stuff from Dennis Sherman of Power Wagons Plus
Five Gallons of Gas from Tim Holloway
More

Should be an excellent time!
