I can't help you with the hydravac question, but I use a very simple and inexpensive method for 1-man brake bleeding. Get about 20' of 1/4" clear vinyl tubing and a few inches of 1/4" rubber fuel hose. Open the bleed screw a good ways and connect the clear tube to it by slipping one end of the rubber hose over the bleed screw and one end over the clear tube. If you have an assistant, you can have them keep the MC filled while you pump the brakes, but it's easy to just check it once in a while and top it off, especially where the MC is under the driver's floorboard. Put the end of the clear tube in a container and pump the brake until all the dirt old fluid is out. The clear tube makes this easy to see. Then put the end of the clear tube into the MC and pump some more until all the air bubbles are out. Again, the clear tube makes it easy to see any bubbles in the line. Once the air is all out of the line, it's best to tighten the bleed screw before removing the hose from it. I've used this on many vehicles and it always works well. By the way, on bunged-up bleed screws where a normal 7/16 end wrench slips around the corners, an 11 mm 6-point deep socket makes a slightly more snug fit and won't slip off.
