Funny how much false bravado folks get when they won't ever meet face to face. Every little remark brings mass indignation. Sort of like flipping the finger on the freeway, nobody would really act that way face to face. In a crowd at the mall, we'd both say excuse me, pardon me, with no raised hackles. So here we are, with no insults, no name calling, just a difference of opinion. Quite a difference from "the Code of the west". I guess the lack of 'body language' on the net is a factor? Or the lack of "um, well"'s and explanatory "well, the way I see it"'s make typed messages seem coarse? I KNOW I'm guilty of the latter. 6 hand surgerys don't leave me any typing skills to waste on platitudes. (it took me 57 minutes to peck out this whole post)

Funny thing about the concept "if you don't know, don't guess". EVERY job I've ever had, I was rewarded for making good guesses. Only burocrats (sp)are not. The private sector lives and dies by the philosophy "He who dares, wins". 25 years ago, I was taking home $1100/week as a flat rate line mechanic on light trucks. I didn't keep all those customers happy by making bad guess's, and I couldn't spend all day with my nose in the manual either.

BJ, you also are daring, and winning. What else would you call buying a 40 year old truck? Did you KNOW, or did you make a confident GUESS, that it would be fun when you bought it?

Just another philosophical discussion, with the expectation of making many folks think. No offence meant. I hope no offence taken.

And you are welcome.
