I have this tranny in my PW with a 318 and 4.89 gears. Mine does have a drivers side PTO window and I have seen another with a window on both sides. Its a full synchro tranny, so most of my stopping is through downshifting. I really like the feel of it. It shifts well, although the throw is a bit long. It is a longer tranny, requiring a shortening of the jackshaft. It is also a bit taller, so I needed to modify my tin floor hump that goes over it. But, I wanted to anyway, to make a spot for my foot to sit. I pull out in second gear on a flat surface; with 5.83 third gear starts were the norm.
