That's why I asked him where it was -- just in the off chance it really was worth more than $2500. I thought I bid pretty high on that carryall in Walla Walla last week, but obviously it was worth a lot more to somebody else. I suspect it wasn't a carryall because my M37 reminded him of it. He said the dead guy paid $3500 for it, but who knows...
A few years ago I paid $500 for a 52 Reo M35 with hopelessly rusted out sheet metal, no electrical system except starter and sparks, no gages, the rustiest drive train I ever saw, all the glass broken, and a jerry can for a gas tank, just because it had a rear winch in good shape with everything intact and a useable front winch, and odd but unworn 10.00-20 tires. It too was one of those "brother-in-law-of-the-dead-guy" deals, and the dead guy had supposedly paid $1000 for it in even worse shape, sandblasted and painted everything behind the cab, put new tires on it and then died.
