Slow Progress

I rent a good sandblaster and now have the WC-51 disassembled and sandblasted. I still have a few small parts that I’ll do in my little sandblasting cabinet as I go.

I’m painting the frame with POR-15 rust inhibiting paint. I’m using a small brush and it is slow going. I spread it thin to avoid brush strokes and make this rather expensive paint go as far as I can, but it’s time consuming work.

I want to apply this paint to the frame, axles, springs, brackets and bed frame pieces, plus the under side of the fenders and cab… but my patience is wearing thin with the hand brush application. I know it can be sprayed, but I don’t have any POR-15 compatible thinner/cleaner and worry that I’ll ruin my paint gun. Any clean up tips from someone who has tried it?

For those interested, or dog Taffy is doing well. She has good and bad days, but mostly good days so far. I'm still hoping to get the truck done enough to give her a ride before she’s too far gone to enjoy it.
