You are talking the buckets of chlorinated hydrocarbons? Carb soak stuff? Not the spray cans? Pretty nasty stuff, removes everything except the black paint from Capri rocker covers- must have been baked enamel? I do know one machinst that claimed it dissolved his achilles tendons, but you know machinists.....
