Nice rigs, I too drive an open cab. 1942 WC52. I have the hard cab for winter. driving with the top off IS a blast. I always look forward to taking the cab off in the spring. You should be able to strip the aluminum with paint stripper from your local parts store. It is not harsh enough to hurt aluminum.
