I just bought a 2005 Durango with the hemi. It is getting consistenly over 20mpg on the highway at 65mph. I have about 4000 miles on it now, almost all highway. By the way, this milage is calculated from corrected miles traveled and gallons consumed, not the computer which reads a couple mpg higher. Odometer reads a couple % too high also.
These Durangos have the 5 speed automatic and I noticed that 5th gear is a real overdrive, highway speeds are about 1500 rpm .
As for the 5.2 engine, tested the same way for 140,000 miles in a Ram 2500 passenger van, gets 18 mpg on the highway not exceeding 65 mph.
