I know a few folks with the '05's, they love 'em. The lift pump problems are on earlier models, not the '05. The transmision issues were on the 46 and 47RE, not the new 48RE. (there is quite a bit of evidence that lack of maintenance and improper O.D. gear selection contributed to a lot of those problems). The'05 Cummins is powerful, quiet and gets great fuel economy. There is no time like the present!
