Joe,

Are you seeing posts on TDR about lift pumps going out on the '05's? I have not seen those myself but the second gen had a lot of trouble with them. They used a carter pump on the side of the block but the '05's have a different one in the tank which hopefully is more reliable.

The auto trans has always been the weak point on these rigs but the 48RE in the latest ones is supposed to be pretty reliable. Our '01 has the 47RE (not as good) and did not get good care before I got custody of it. No service for the first 75,000 miles and some rough treatment at times but so far (fingers crossed) it is still going good at 90,000 miles. Last summer we pulled a 19' TT (about 12,000 gross)up through BC, over to Yellowstone and through the Tetons (3 miles, 10% grade) and the transmission performed way better than I ever expected. And I am shift it yourself guy.

I think most of the injector problems were with the early 3rd gens and only a few of them it seemed to me. Maybe there was a bad run of them? I haven't seen too many complaints lately about them.

I drove a 6 speed a few months ago. Very nice and almost too quiet.

Hope this is of some help to you. Good luck.

RR
