OK, I'm convinced that the machine shop must have installed a crank for an automatic into my 318.

I took the engine (assembled) and pilot bearing there this morning to the machine shop, and they installed it (with a little work and pounding), but now the bearing no longer fits over the trans input shaft (I can't get the tranny shaft to fit now as the bearing shrank do to the force fit). I guess I should have expected that from a shop that doesn't do many mopar's, and they knew I was concerned about the pilot bearing and they even resurfaced the fly wheel for me.

I seem to remember something about a special pilot bearing available for automatic cranks to use a manual trans with them. If so, what is the part number or info?

Thanks,
Will
