Command car sighting in a movie

I just seen Omega man with charlton Heston, made sometime around 1978. it was about after WW3 bunch of mutants from germ warfare. He had a 3/4 ton command car he called it a land rover. ARRRG. he wrecked it of course. Actually it probably wasn't damaged that bad, he flipped it on its side and it slid a ways. There was also some type of smaller 4x4 maybe something russian. It sounded like a very small engine 2cyl? it was much smaller than a Jeep CJ type. the movie it self was crappy, I just like to see the vintage cars. There was an A100 van also. Lots of ferds.
