If it drives good but won't idle, then it's either an carb idle circuit or a leak problem.

Try richening the idle mix? It's the screw with the spring on it, sticking out of the carb down low. Turn counter-clockwise to richen.

Try plugging the vac line for the wipers. Then the PCV valve, if it has one. Thats the pipe that goes under the exhaust manifold.

You can check for vaccuum leaks by spraying wd-40 or carb cleaner around the carb and intake manbifold gaskets. It will either temporarily plug the leak, or add fuel, either way, engine speed will change.
