Ethanol - Carb problems

I am having problems with the carb (49 FF)
Mechanic told me not to run ethanol in the old trucks, has anyone had problems with ethanol?

Truck starts the second you hit the starter if you let it sit for at least one day or longer. Otherwise you have to give it full throttle. (Seems to be flooded if it sits for just a short time)

My other thought is maybe the main inlet needle is leaking fuel/ or the float is set too high.

What do you think?
