before long. All the dumb laws start in either California or the Northeast, and before long everybody has to copy them. California started charging admission to state parks, and within a few years Oregon and Washington followed. Now Oregon and Washington are hard at work copying California's smog laws. I moved to Idaho, but I'm sure that before long we'll have NJ gun laws and CA smog laws too. All the Californians moving here will demand it. I got some new neighbors that sold their shack in San Diego for $600K and bought a nice house here for pocket change. One day one of them pointed out a broken piece of the curb in front of their house and asked me who they should talk to to get the city to fix it. She said it was dangerous because somebody could trip on it and get hurt and sue the city. I told her one sack of concrete should be plenty to fix it, which would cost her about $2 at the hardware store.
