The axles were Coporate 9-5/8" rings so they should be stronger than the Dana 60 and gm 10 bolts which are 9-3/8" and 8.5" respectively. FYI, the gm 12 bolt is 8.8" and the 14 bolt is 9.5, so if you base the strength of a rear end upon ring size, the M37 Chrysler Corporate axle is stronger than all but a Dana 70 at 10.5".
Gm 10 bolt axles are 1.20" diameter, smaller than the Dana 44 1.31", Gm 14 bolt axles are 1.37" or 1,50" depending upon year and application. Dana 60, 1.31" Dana 70 1.50", Chrysler Corporate modern axles are 1.32, I don't have info for the early M37 axle diameters, but based upon the large size of the rear gear, I'd think that they were comparable with the others. Someone will post here soon, I'm sure. One thing I've noticed, no matter who the manufacturer, is that later axles have more splines which translates into greater strength than the early 19 and 23 splined axles.
