I at the moment could only find my 1930s battery charger. So old it has a giant ube in it, I did not put any soap in the water. I left in on for about 12 hours with a piece of a very old rusty snatch block hanging in the water. All the rust is gone, just some olive drab paint left over. I imagine using soda ash soap would speed up the process, but it still works great
