color of flatfender starter

I am cleaning up the starter to re-install it in my 52 B-3. I see a hint of a color that looks a little like gold or brass on the case.
The removable band is black.
DOes anyone know the "correct" color?

Silver was factory color of complete engines - chriscase 8:54PM 08/28/2005
