the Diesel engine is a multi-fuel engine, and it will burn anything liquid that is combustable. I know of guys who filter their used engine oil and run it in their diesels, it smokes like crazy, but they say the engines have alot of power running on used oil. You can run a diesel engine on gasoline, BUT, Gasoline is more volital and can cause the combustion process to happen too fast, and it is a solvent and not a lubricant, and your injector pump will not last any time on gasoline. Id imagine that paint thinner is pretty close. Diesel fuel keeps the injector pump lubricated as well. Paint thinner should probably be used as a last resort or mixed with a light engine oil, or Automatic trans fluid.

A few weekends ago, I roasted a pig for a wedding, and had about 3 gallons of pig grease in the bucket that dripped out of the roaster. I was wondering if perhaps I screened and filtered the liquid grease if I could run that in my Diesel? Thats food for thought....
